Wondering how to set up IPTV at home? On MoviraTivi the routine hardly varies from screen to screen. You add a player, type the login we send on WhatsApp, and allow a minute for the first channel load. After that, 25,000+ live channels sit in folders, with the USA, Canada and UK first, each split into news, networks, sport, kids and entertainment. Whether you watch on a smart TV, a stick, a phone or a laptop, the IPTV setup barely changes. Only the app store and a few menu names differ, and the 14 setup guides below cover each one.
One tip from experience: do the setup on a quiet evening, not five minutes before the show you wanted to see. Need a login to practice with? Request the 24-hour MoviraTivi trial; no card is asked, and you can follow any guide on your own TV with a live account.
IPTV setup in three parts: player, login, favorites
- Install a player you trust. TiViMate, IPTV Smarters Pro, iMPlayer and Smart IPTV cover most homes, and each has a free download or a free trial. On a Fire TV stick, most players arrive through the free Downloader app. There is no MoviraTivi app of our own, so you are free to use the one you already like.
- Enter the login. Select the Xtream Codes sign-in, then copy server, username and password exactly as written. A few TV apps only accept an M3U link, which comes in the same message. MAG boxes sign in by their MAC code instead.
- Find your country and save favorites. In Live TV, open the USA, Canada or UK folder and save your weekly regulars as favorites. From then on, the TV opens on your own short list.
Your screen looks nothing like this? Pick your device or app below. Each guide uses the menu names you will actually see and points out the one step people most often get wrong.
Which screen should you set up first?
Before you spend money, find out what the TV in front of you already handles. Plenty of newer sets download a player from their built-in store. What matters most for daily viewing is a player you find easy, a steady connection and, ideally, an Ethernet port.
Google TV and Android TV
Google TV sets from Sony, TCL, Hisense, Philips and others install apps from Google Play, the biggest player catalog, with TiViMate and iMPlayer both listed. The Android TV and Google TV guide includes streamers like the Nvidia Shield and Google's own TV Streamer.
Fire TV sticks and older TVs
A stick in the HDMI port gives an older TV a modern player, because the app runs on the stick. The Firestick guide covers the Downloader app and the settings worth changing. Check the model before buying: Amazon devices on Vega OS, the Fire TV Stick 4K Select among them, refuse sideloaded Android apps.
Samsung and LG televisions
A Samsung runs Tizen, an LG runs webOS, and each has its own store with players that take a MoviraTivi login. Which players appear varies with the country and the year of the set, so no single app is guaranteed. Follow the Samsung TV walkthrough or the LG TV walkthrough for the current options.
Roku televisions
Roku accepts apps from the Roku store alone, and none of the IPTV players listed there earns our recommendation. The practical routes are screen mirroring from a phone or a separate stick in a spare HDMI port. The Roku guide explains why we suggest the stick for everyday use.
Apple TV, iPhone, iPad and computers
Apple TV 4K runs iMPlayer and Smarters Player Lite well; the Apple TV and iPhone guide covers both. A laptop makes a handy second screen for the news, and the Windows and Mac guide walks through Smarters, VLC and other desktop players.
MAG and Formuler boxes
A MAG identifies itself with its MAC address, not a username. Message us the code from the sticker underneath, then follow the MAG and Formuler guide to load the portal and find your country folders. Formuler boxes can also take an Xtream login.
IPTV players compared: which app suits you?
Think of a player as an empty TV set: it is made by its own developer, has nothing to do with MoviraTivi and shows nothing until you sign in. All of the players below accept our login. They differ in the devices they run on, how they look and what they cost. MoviraTivi never sells or bundles player licences; any upgrade is bought from the developer.
Six IPTV players compared by cost, supported devices and how they show country folders
| Player | Cost | Runs on | Folders and favorites |
| TiViMate | Free; optional Premium bought in the Companion app | Android TV, Google TV, Fire TV and Android boxes | Classic guide grid, hide folders, favorites at the top |
| IPTV Smarters Pro | Free; Apple edition has an optional upgrade | Android, Fire TV, Windows, Mac; Apple via Smarters Player Lite | Large tiles, category list, heart for favorites |
| iMPlayer | Free; optional Premium in-app | Android TV, Google TV, Android phones, Apple TV, iPhone, iPad, Mac; Fire TV by sideload | Modern layout, category list, star for favorites |
| Smart IPTV | One-time 5.49 EUR per TV after the trial | LG, Samsung (2022 and later), Android and Fire TV | Folders from the playlist, basic favorites |
| MAG portal / MyTVOnline | Part of the box software | MAG and Formuler set-top boxes | Portal folders and favorites |
| VLC | Free | Windows, Mac, iPhone, Android | One long searchable list, no favorites for streams |
Costs checked against developer sites and store listings in October 2026; they vary by country and can change.
Start with a free player. The TiViMate guide suits Android-based TVs, the IPTV Smarters Pro guide helps newcomers on almost any screen, and the new iMPlayer guide covers a player that works across Android and Apple. On a computer, the M3U link plays in the free VLC media player. Our roundup of the best IPTV players goes deeper. Looking for a MoviraTivi app? Settings worth five minutes in your first week
Once the first channel plays, a few small settings make every evening easier. Names differ between apps, but most players have these:
- Favorites: save the ten to fifteen channels you watch most, such as local news, the main networks and a kids channel, so the TV opens on your own list.
- Hide folders you never open: TiViMate and several other players can hide whole folders, which keeps your USA, Canada or UK folders near the top.
- Time zone: set the device to your own zone, whether Eastern, Pacific, Toronto or London, so the TV guide lines up.
- Buffer size: if the app offers it, a slightly bigger buffer costs a moment at channel start but cuts pauses over Wi-Fi.
- Frame-rate matching: on Apple TV, Fire TV and Google TV, the device can change the refresh rate per channel so pans look smoother.
Want to know what sits in each country folder before you start? The USA IPTV page covers US networks, cable channels, news and local channels for a selection of markets. The Canada IPTV page covers channels in English and French, and the UK IPTV page covers the UK lineup and the TV licence question. Lineups follow what broadcasters send us. The full channel list and the sports page fill in the rest, and the same login also opens 120,000+ films and series.
Your IPTV setup kit
- Something that runs a player: a smart TV, phone, tablet, laptop, desktop, stick, streamer or set-top box all work. Suggestions sit in our best IPTV box guide.
- Broadband with room to spare: the FCC broadband guide puts one 4K stream at roughly 25 Mbps, while HD gets by on far less. Our picture comes in 4K, FHD or HD, and 4K only on channels whose broadcaster provides it. The 4K IPTV page covers the rest.
- Your MoviraTivi login: server, username and password for Xtream, plus an M3U link for apps that prefer it, or a portal for MAG boxes.
- The right number of screens: think of your busiest evening and count the devices playing together. Options of 1, 2, 3 or 5 screens are set out on the MoviraTivi subscription page.
Nobody needs to climb on the roof or wait in for an engineer. Each login style gets its own page: read the Xtream login walkthrough and the M3U link walkthrough. Still comparing services? Our checklist for choosing an IPTV provider lists what to test during any trial.
Quick fixes when a channel will not play
- Login refused: the server line is usually missing http:// at the start or the port at the end. Copy the whole line again from our message.
- Still refused: pasted text can hide a space at the end, so type the username and password yourself.
- Country folder empty: the first load may still be running. Wait a few minutes, then refresh the playlist or sign out and back in.
- Pauses in the evening: go wired or use 5 GHz Wi-Fi, nudge the buffer up and stop big downloads at home.
- Jerky movement: turn on frame-rate matching on the device if it offers it.
- A second device stops the first: you have gone over the number of screens on your plan.

IPTV setup questions, answered by MoviraTivi
How do I set up IPTV?
Put a player app on your screen, pick its Xtream Codes sign-in, and copy in the three lines our WhatsApp message gives you: server, username, password. Wait a minute while the channels and guide load. Then open your home-country folder, USA, Canada or UK, and add your everyday channels to favorites. Most people finish in under ten minutes.
How can I install IPTV on my own TV?
That depends on the operating system of the set. Google TV and Android TV sets install TiViMate or iMPlayer from Google Play. Samsung and LG sets use their own stores, which often list Smart IPTV or a Smarters edition. Roku has no player we can recommend, so add a stick. Each case has its own guide on this page.
What is the easiest IPTV setup for a beginner?
Begin small: one TV and one easy player, for example IPTV Smarters Pro and its big tiles. Request our free trial, type the login from the message into the app and give it a minute. Learn just two things at first: where your country folder is and how to save a favorite. We can walk you through it live on WhatsApp.
What equipment does IPTV need at home?
Just a player-capable device, home broadband and your MoviraTivi login. That device might be a smart TV, Fire TV stick, Google TV streamer, phone, tablet, computer or set-top box. Forget the dish, the cable box and the installer visit. If you buy one extra, make it a network cable for the main TV.
Which device is best for streaming IPTV?
Most households do best with a Google TV Streamer or an Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max, loaded with TiViMate or iMPlayer. Apple TV 4K works well with iMPlayer or Smarters Player Lite. A recent Samsung or LG TV can do the job alone if its store lists a player. Whatever you pick, a wired connection helps most.
Can one MoviraTivi login work on every device at home?
Yes. Save it on as many devices as you like; your plan counts only how many play at the same moment, at 1, 2, 3 or 5 screens. Favorites are stored inside each app, so every person can keep their own list of home channels on their own device.
My player rejects the MoviraTivi login. Why?
In most cases the server line is off: it has to open with http:// and close on a colon followed by the port. After that, check for an invisible trailing space behind the username or password, a common side effect of copying on a phone. If everything matches our message, restart the device and try again, then send us a photo of the error on WhatsApp.
