Confirm what the TV runs
Open Settings, then System and About. If the screen mentions Google TV or Android TV, follow this guide. If you see Tizen, webOS or Roku, jump to the guide for that brand. Uncertified boxes running phone software tend to get a store with the TV apps missing, so certified hardware saves trouble.
Update the system first
Under Settings, System, About, run System update and restart afterwards. Newer firmware handles more video formats and on many models adds Match content frame rate. Apps from Google Play update themselves, so this one check keeps the whole box current.
Install your player from Google Play
Open the Apps tab or the Google Play tile and search for TiViMate IPTV Player or iMPlayer TV IPTV Player. Check the developer name before you install. TiViMate is free for one playlist, with a paid Premium tier for extras. iMPlayer also has optional paid features. Neither fee buys any channels.
Prefer Smarters? Use Downloader
Install Downloader from Google Play, then allow it under the security or Apps settings, often called Install unknown apps. Ask our WhatsApp team for the Smarters code, enter it, install the app and delete the file afterwards. Only take Smarters from that code or from the developer site, never from copy sites.
Enter the MoviraTivi login
TiViMate asks you to add a playlist and pick Xtream Codes; iMPlayer offers an Xtream choice when you create a playlist; Smarters calls it Login with Xtream Codes API. Fill in the server (http:// and port included), username and password. Typing is quicker through the remote screen of the Google TV phone app.
Wait for the first sync
Name the playlist MoviraTivi. The first load pulls every live folder, the program guide and, if you say yes, the 120,000+ films and series. A modest box may need a few minutes. Let it finish before you start browsing; later launches only download what has changed.
Open the folders for your country
Folders are grouped by country first. Viewers in the USA will find network, cable, news and kids groups, with local channels for a selection of markets. Canada has English and French groups. UK folders hold the main terrestrial and entertainment channels. Spanish-language and international folders sit further down.
Make a favorites list
Long-press the center button on each channel you use every week and add it to favorites. Ten channels covers most homes: local news, the main networks, a kids channel, a film channel, perhaps one sport channel. The Favorites group then becomes your normal starting point.
Match the frame rate
Google TV keeps an option called Match content frame rate in Display and Sound settings. Pick the mode your TV handles without fuss. North American channels mostly run near 60 frames per second and UK channels at 50, and matching removes the faint stutter that shows when a camera pans slowly.
Give the box a steady line
Plug in Ethernet if the box has a port; nothing helps live channels more. Otherwise use 5 GHz Wi-Fi. If one channel stutters, raise the buffer one step in the player. A slightly bigger buffer adds a moment of delay but smooths out short drops in the connection.
Restart now and then
A box with only 2 GB of memory gets sluggish once background apps pile up. Restart from the settings menu every few days, or pull the plug for a minute. Then open the player, check your favorites and let a channel run for a moment to settle.
Use the login on other screens
Any other television, tablet or phone just needs a player and the same MoviraTivi details. Your plan decides how many devices stream at once, from 1 to 5 screens. Favorites live on each device; the guide, and catch-up where a channel supports it, follow the login everywhere.

Where the country folders and favorites sit on Android TV
Software updates sometimes rename these menus. Treat the paths as directions, and if your screen shows a slightly different word, pick the nearest match and carry on.

Channels pausing in the evening? Five checks that usually fix it
- Connection: use an Ethernet cable, or move closer to the router on 5 GHz Wi-Fi; 2.4 GHz through several walls is the usual weak spot.
- Home traffic: hold off console updates, large downloads and cloud backups while you watch.
- Player: where the app has a buffer setting, raise it one step, and leave hardware decoding on unless a single channel acts up.
- Picture: switch on frame-rate matching if the device has it, so camera pans look smooth.
- Channel: if one copy of a channel stalls, open another copy in the same folder and tell us which one failed.
Picture quality on MoviraTivi is 4K, FHD or HD, and 4K shows up only on channels whose broadcaster supplies it. The 4K IPTV page lists the speed and hardware that 4K needs, and our article on VPNs for IPTV sets out honestly whether you need one at all.
Common Android TV errors and how to fix them
TiViMate and iMPlayer are missing from the store
An uncertified box running phone software usually gets a Google Play without TV apps. Sideload them with Downloader. Be aware that uncertified boxes rarely receive updates for video formats or display features.
No channels after signing in
The opening sync may need extra minutes. In TiViMate, open Settings, Playlists, select the playlist and update it. In iMPlayer or Smarters, refresh the playlist or sign out and in again. If nothing loads, check that the server line includes the port.
Black picture with audio
Your box cannot handle the video format of that one stream. Install pending system updates, then switch the decoder or player engine inside the app. Changing channel and coming back often fixes it. If one channel always fails, send its name to our team.
Channels stutter every evening
Home and neighborhood Wi-Fi get crowded after dinner. Use a cable or the 5 GHz band, pause downloads on other devices and raise the player buffer one step. When only one channel misbehaves, send us its name.
The TV goes dark for a second
That blank second is the TV changing refresh rate to suit the channel. It is expected. If it bothers you, choose the seamless-only mode in Match content frame rate, or turn it off and accept slight judder on 50 fps channels.
My favorites have disappeared
Removing a playlist and re-adding it starts from zero, so favorites are lost. Update the existing playlist instead of replacing it. Clearing the app data has the same effect, so write down your channels first.
A tablet stops the TV stream
Your plan has reached its screen limit. Close the player on the device you are not using and wait a minute. If several people watch at the same time most evenings, pick more screens when you renew.

How do you set up IPTV on Android TV?
Get TiViMate or iMPlayer TV from Google Play, or sideload Smarters with Downloader. Pick the Xtream Codes sign-in and copy over the three lines in your MoviraTivi WhatsApp message. After the first load of channels and guide, open your home-country folders and favorite what you watch. Eight minutes is typical.
Is iMPlayer available on Google TV?
Yes. When we checked in October 2026, iMPlayer TV IPTV Player appeared in Google Play for Google TV and Android TV hardware, free to install with optional paid features. It accepts the MoviraTivi Xtream Codes login and shows live folders, a full guide, and film and series sections. Check the developer name before installing to avoid lookalikes.
Where is IPTV Smarters Pro in Google Play?
The official Smarters Pro listing was not in Google Play when we checked in October 2026, and several similar names there come from other developers. Our WhatsApp team can send a Downloader code for the genuine app, or you can get it from the Smarters developer site. TiViMate and iMPlayer are simpler options from Google Play.
Where are the US, Canadian and UK channels in TiViMate?
In the group column of the TV guide. Open the guide, press Left and scroll; folders start with the country, so the USA, Canada and UK groups sit together. A long press of the center button adds a channel to favorites. Groups missing? Update the MoviraTivi playlist in Settings, Playlists.
Should I turn on Match content frame rate?
Usually yes, as long as your TV handles the switch well. North American channels mostly broadcast near 60 frames per second, UK channels at 50. A box stuck at 60 Hz adds a faint stutter to 50 fps pictures, and matching removes it. A one-second blank screen during the change is expected.
Can two rooms watch different channels at once?
They can when your plan covers two screens or more. Put a player on each device, enter the same MoviraTivi login and start whatever each room wants. With a single-screen plan only one device streams. Choose one, two, three or five screens, and adjust the number when you renew.
