Before MoviraTivi goes on your Roku
- A Roku TV or Roku player linked to a Roku account
- The MoviraTivi login from your WhatsApp chat
- To cast: an Android phone, iPhone or Windows laptop joined to the Wi-Fi your Roku uses
- To watch daily: a Google TV streamer or Fire OS stick, plus an unused HDMI input
Still without a login? Request the 24-hour MoviraTivi trial (no card) and follow along on your own TV. Curious what your home folders hold? See the USA lineup, the Canada lineup or the UK lineup. When it all works, compare plan lengths and screen counts.
MoviraTivi on Roku: 11 steps from install to your favorite home channels
Identify the Roku
Look under Settings, System, About for the model and software version, and install any pending System update. The model tells you whether Apple AirPlay is supported, and it helps our team give you a quick, accurate answer if you message us.
Decide on your route
If you watch most evenings, plan on an HDMI streamer; it turns the Roku TV into a full IPTV setup. If you only want to try MoviraTivi or watch now and then, mirroring is enough. A Roku store player is the third option, with real limits.
Route one: plug in a streamer
Plug a Google TV streamer, or a Fire OS stick like the 4K Max or 4K Plus, into an unused HDMI input. Avoid Vega OS sticks like the 4K Select, which cannot install IPTV players. Power it from the wall adapter, not the TV USB port, for a stable picture.
Install a player on the streamer
On Google TV, install TiViMate or iMPlayer TV from Google Play. On a Fire OS stick, use Downloader with a code from our team. Pick Xtream Codes, copy in the three lines we sent and wait for the opening sync to end.
Name the input and link the remotes
On the Roku TV home screen, highlight the new HDMI tile, press the star button and rename it, for example to MoviraTivi. With HDMI-CEC enabled in the Roku settings, one remote handles power and volume and the other flips channels.
Route two: let the Roku accept casting
Go to Settings, System, Screen mirroring and choose Prompt, or Always allow if you prefer no questions. Roku models with AirPlay add an Apple AirPlay and HomeKit menu where AirPlay must be switched on. iPhones use AirPlay, while Android phones and Windows laptops use standard screen mirroring.
Prepare the phone before casting
Everything on the phone display will appear on the TV, so get it ready first. Open iMPlayer or Smarters on the phone, sign in with your MoviraTivi login, open your country folder and start the channel. Silence notifications, since every alert appears on the TV too.
Start mirroring
On Android, pull down the quick settings and choose Screen cast, Smart View or Screen mirror, depending on the brand. On iPhone, open Control Center and choose Screen Mirroring. On Windows, press Win+K. Accept the request on the TV. Expect a small delay and a slightly softer image.
Route three: test a Roku store app
Browse the Roku store for IPTV players. Shortlist only apps that state Xtream Codes or M3U support in plain words, and walk away from any that wants money before a login screen appears. We cannot vouch for any of them. If one works, enter your details and see whether it shows folders or one long list.
Favorite your home-country channels
Whichever route you use, open the USA, Canada or UK folders and favorite the channels you use every week. On a streamer this takes a long press per channel. Canadian folders come in English and French, and Spanish-language and international folders sit further down the list.
Steady playback, then more screens
Wired, or on 5 GHz, a streamer keeps live channels far more stable than casting does; reboot it now and then. Other phones and televisions can share the login within your one, two, three or five screen allowance, along with the guide and any catch-up.
What we can and cannot promise on a Roku
Roku is a closed platform. It installs only what is in the Roku store, there is no setting to allow outside apps, and Roku developer mode is meant for people writing apps, not for viewers. When we checked in October 2026, we knew of no Roku store player with full Xtream support that we could recommend. Listings change without notice, so treat any store app as a short-term experiment.
For that reason our usual advice to Roku owners is a small streamer on a free HDMI input. It delivers everything: country folders, favorites, buffer control and automatic frame-rate switching. Once it is plugged in, follow the Google TV and Android TV guide or the Firestick guide. Our IPTV box roundup compares current streamers.

Roku Channel or MoviraTivi?
The Roku Channel is a free, ad-supported service that Roku programs itself. MoviraTivi is a paid login with 25,000+ live channels arranged by country, opened in a player you choose. They answer different needs, and plenty of homes use both. If you are weighing a cable or satellite bill against a single login, our IPTV vs cable comparison runs the numbers for the USA, Canada and the UK.
Before you commit
Test the streamer route on your own TV with the 24-hour free trial. Check your local news and the networks you grew up with in the country folders; local stations cover a selection of markets, not every one.
Where the country folders and favorites sit on Roku
Software updates sometimes rename these menus. Treat the paths as directions, and if your screen shows a slightly different word, pick the nearest match and carry on.
| Route | Country folders and favorites | Picture | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| HDMI streamer with TiViMate, iMPlayer or Smarters | Full folders by country, favorites, grid guide | Steadiest, with frame-rate matching | Everyday viewing |
| Phone or laptop mirrored to the Roku | Whatever the phone player offers | Slightly soft, with a small delay | An occasional evening |
| Player app from the Roku store | Depends on the app; many show one long list | Varies from app to app | Trying things out |
Want the developer's own word on menus and versions? Visit the Roku Support: screen mirroring from a phone, tablet or computer. What a channel carries on a given day follows what its broadcaster sends. Before you pay, use the trial to open the channels you grew up with and check them on your own screen.
Channels pausing in the evening? Five checks that usually fix it
- Connection: use an Ethernet cable, or move closer to the router on 5 GHz Wi-Fi; 2.4 GHz through several walls is the usual weak spot.
- Home traffic: hold off console updates, large downloads and cloud backups while you watch.
- Player: where the app has a buffer setting, raise it one step, and leave hardware decoding on unless a single channel acts up.
- Picture: switch on frame-rate matching if the device has it, so camera pans look smooth.
- Channel: if one copy of a channel stalls, open another copy in the same folder and tell us which one failed.
Picture quality on MoviraTivi is 4K, FHD or HD, and 4K shows up only on channels whose broadcaster supplies it. The 4K IPTV page lists the speed and hardware that 4K needs, and our article on VPNs for IPTV sets out honestly whether you need one at all.
Common Roku errors and how to fix them
A store player disappeared
Roku store listings can be pulled without warning. Cast from your phone in the meantime and ask us what is working this month. Once a streamer sits on HDMI, the Roku store stops mattering.
All channels sit in one long list
Many Roku players have no folder view. Use the search inside the app, or mirror iMPlayer or Smarters from a phone. For everyday viewing, a streamer gives proper country folders and favorites.
Roku not listed on the phone
Phones on a guest network cannot see the TV; put both on the main Wi-Fi. Make sure casting is not set to Never allow, reboot both and retry. Turn off any VPN app on the phone while casting, as it can mask devices at home.
Soft or jumpy picture while casting
Casting means the phone receives the channel and then re-sends it, so your Wi-Fi carries it twice. Sit nearer the router and pause other downloads. A streamer running the player directly avoids the problem.
Picture lost when the phone sleeps
The TV only shows what the phone display shows, so a locked phone means a blank TV. Set a longer screen timeout, keep it on charge, or switch to a streamer.
AirPlay missing from the menu
Only some Roku models support AirPlay, and only on recent software. Update under Settings, System first. If it still is not there, cast from an Android phone or Windows PC, or add a streamer.
Asked to pay before you can log in
Certain Roku store players sell the software first, and no such fee ever includes channels. Remove any app that demands payment before showing a login screen. Casting, or a free player on a streamer, is safer.

MoviraTivi on Roku: common questions
How do you set up IPTV on a Roku?
Choose a route. Connect a Google TV or Fire OS streamer by HDMI and install TiViMate, iMPlayer or Smarters; mirror a phone or laptop that runs a player; or try a Roku store app that accepts Xtream or M3U. For daily use the streamer is best, with full folders, favorites and the steadiest MoviraTivi picture.
Is sideloading possible on a Roku?
No. Roku limits you to its own store and offers nothing like the unknown sources option on Android. Developer mode exists for app builders, not for installing third-party players. That leaves a store app, casting, or a streamer on a free HDMI input running your preferred player with the MoviraTivi login.
Is there an iMPlayer or TiViMate app for Roku?
No. Neither app is made for Roku OS. Both run on Android TV and Google TV, iMPlayer also runs on Apple devices, and both can be used with a Roku TV through a streamer in an HDMI port. That setup keeps the Roku for its own apps while MoviraTivi runs on the streamer.
Is mirroring good enough to watch every day?
Occasionally, yes. Casting brings a short lag, occupies your phone, softens the image when Wi-Fi is busy and shows every notification on the TV. A wired or 5 GHz streamer delivers a steadier picture and a proper remote for moving through your MoviraTivi country folders.
What should I plug into a Roku TV for IPTV?
Any certified Google TV streamer or Fire OS stick works. A Google TV streamer with an Ethernet port gives a wired connection and installs TiViMate or iMPlayer straight from Google Play. Among sticks, the Fire TV Stick 4K Max runs Fire OS. Skip Vega OS models like the 4K Select; players will not install on them.
How does MoviraTivi compare with The Roku Channel?
They are unrelated. The Roku Channel is ad-funded, free and programmed by Roku country by country. MoviraTivi offers 25,000+ live channels in USA, Canada, UK, Spanish-language and international folders inside a player you pick, under one login. Using both side by side is common.
